What Would Cause an AC Unit to Not Turn on in Mountain’s Edge, NV? Clogged Condensate Line & More Expect a Higher Level of Service

The time has come that people are shutting down the heating unit and getting ready to start up the air conditioner. The warmer the weather is, the quicker the time comes to have your air conditioner up and running. Most people will wait to see how long they can put off turning on the air conditioner to save on some money. One of the issues is if you wait too long to test it or use it is when there is a problem it might be too hot to live without it. The best thing you can do is to use the air conditioner in advance of the need of it so that you can address any issues that might come up before you need it. One of the things that might come up is that the when you go to switch over to AC the unit will not turn on. If the unit will not come on then there can be several issues that are causing it that you can look into. The best thing to do is to have a professional out and they can do a diagnosis. Air Supply Heating & Air Conditioning outlines what can cause your AC to not turn on.

AC Unit Trips Breaker

When you go to turn on the air conditioner and it will not start to do its job there are some things that could be wrong. One thing that you can start with is to go to the breaker box and check to see if the circuit has been tripped. The breaker might be in the home usually inside the garage or it can be placed on the outside of the house. The box should be labeled so that you know which one will go with the AC unit. If you are not sure you can test to see if any are tripped or not pushed over to the correct side. Once you reset the breaker you can test to see if the air conditioner will work. If not you will need to move to the next potential issue.

Need to Reset My Outside AC Unit

If you have not been using your AC unit there is chance that it could have been messed with and shut off from the outside. Many units have a switch that can be used from the outside of the house to turn off the power to the unit. This switch is something that you want to make sure that you check to be sure that it is moved to the in position. If it has been switched off you want to make sure that it is switched back on then test the unit again.

Clogged Condensate Drain Line

One thing that you want to make sure you are aware of is that the AC unit will have some condensation that develops. This moisture has to have somewhere to go and that is where the condensation pan comes into play. The pan also has a line that runs from it and move the moisture away. This area can become clogged and blocked and that will trigger the unit to shut off and not come back on unless it has been cleared away. You can have the area cleared as well as the rest of the unit maintained.
