All homeowners strive to keep their homes comfortable for their families. One of the most important parts of your comfort during the cold winter months is your furnace. Here at Air Supply Heating and Air Conditioning we want to help you in every way possible in selecting a furnace that will best meet the needs for your family. As an Amana distributor, we are ready and willing to answer any questions that you may have about Amana furnaces. Today we will feature the Amana AMEC96 for those of you who are thinking about replacing their furnace.

Furnace Heat Exchangers

The Amana AMEC96 is a gas furnace. Gas furnaces are appliances that you can realistically hope to last for years. The engineers at Amana have equipped the AMEC96 with intelligently designed components that have been performance tested and then refined over the years. The new stainless-steel heat exchangers that come in the Amana gas furnaces help the Amana AMEC96 live up to the expectation consumers have come to expect with Amana furnaces.

Low Furnace Noise Level & Other Features

When it comes to furnaces, consumers definitely think that the quieter they are the better. The Amana AMEC96 has a sound-isolated blower assembly and a heavy-gauge steel cabinet that help the furnace operate quietly. Other furnaces that do not have these features will operate much louder than this furnace. The Amana AMEC96 also comes with other features that make this a standout furnace. It is also equipped with a two-stage gas valve, multi-speed ECM motor, durable 110-Volt silicon nitride igniter, quiet blower, color-coded low-voltage terminals, self-diagnostic control board, and a thermally insulated cabinet.

Furnace Energy Efficiency

In addition to operating quietly, consumers are also frequently concerned about the energy efficiency of the furnaces that they are contemplating purchasing. The acronym AFUE stands for Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency. The AFUE is a thermal efficiency measure of how efficiently your furnace can utilize its fuel. The more efficient the furnace, the more heat you will get per unit of fuel. The highest AFUE rating is 100%. If a furnace has a 95% AFUE rating that means that 95% of the gas the furnace uses will be converted to heat and 5% is lost up the flue. The Amana AMEC96 has a 96% AFUE rating which will result in lower costs to run your furnace.

Furnace Warranty

Amana backs their product with a 10-Year Parts Limited Warranty. The Amana AMEC96 furnace also comes with a warranty on the heat exchanger. If the heat exchanger ever fails while the original, registered homeowner still owns the house, Amana will replace the furnace at no cost.
